For Today – October 16, 2009

This post was inspired by a post by Ali Edwards, whose post was inspired by the author of another blog. I love it when someone else’s post inspires me to record things I otherwise wouldn’t have thought to record!

Outside my window… cool rain dampening the leaves that have fallen from their trees.

I am thinking… about how to get through the rest of the day with pressing things to do and a needy 4-year-old… and about how to get through the next 8 weeks of fertility treatments and still enjoy the holidays.

I am thankful for… epiphanies – the chance to better understand what’s really going on under my surface.

From the kitchen…hummus, and hopefully later some soup and/or pesto pizza.

I am wearing…the same sweater I have worn for the last three days. I’ll have to change soon, though, because I’m going out tonight with people who saw me in this sweater two days ago. My mother – bless her – has seen me in this outfit each consecutive day and hasn’t said a word!

I am creating… a life I’m beginning to love, a life I love already. I’m also editing photos so I can create scrapbook pages with them this evening.

I am going… to get to work. Soon.

I am reading… Pathway to Purpose by Katie Brazleton. And Character Makeover, also by Katie Brazleton. And The Parent You Want to Be by Les and Leslie Parrott. And Esther by Beth Moore. And Margin by Richard Swenson. I’d recommend every one!

I am hoping… to get pregnant. Secretly, I’m hoping to get pregnant before the ivf starts so we don’t have to spend the money for ivf. I’m also hoping to get completely out of all this debt yuck by April.

I am hearing…the sound of Gabe pulling our coffee table across the floor while he sets up his “restaurant.”

Around the house…there is chaos. Not auditory chaos, but visual chaos. There are piles everywhere. I am discouraged by them.

One of my favorite things… a cup of tea while my husband rubs my feet and works online.

A few plans for the rest of the week… scrapbooking, family time, church, and hopefully de-piling and laundry.

A picture to share… (one of my most favorite photos of all)
