We talked about staying an extra day in Naples but decided to stick with our original plans when I realized how much work it would be to change the hotel reservations. Instead, we compromised by spending the early afternoon at the beach before we left and stopping at Venice Beach for sunset on our way north. Our lovely photographer had recommended it when I asked her about beaches with good shells, and I was glad we went because we also found a collection of driftwood – something I had wanted to collect for a project I want to do.
